Custom Rotational Molding Service of Precise Plastic Enclosures for Robotic Industry
Rotational molding process offers unique advantages for smart robotic, especially as an alternative to traditional metal or injection molded enclosures. Custom material colors, surface texturing, molded in branding logo, modern and sleek design geometry, and extremely rugged plastic material present design and performance capabilities that are either unattainable or cost prohibitive with other manufacturing processes. The list of advantages is numerous
Low tooling cost
Because rotational molding tooling costs approximately 20% to 80% less than the cost of comparable injection mold or blow mold tooling, it is also a preferred, more cost-effective method for producing parts in limited quantities. This low initial cost minimizes the risk in bringing new products to market and often makes producing small quantities more cost-effective.
Low production cost
One of the biggest advantages of rotational molding is that multiple small parts can often be replaced with just one (or a few) bigger parts. Eliminating the need for several small parts not only lowers your cost by reducing your parts count, but also eliminates the cost of the fasteners, adhesives and labor needed for assembling small parts. As the cost of assembling fabricated parts rises across the country, less assembly means greater cost savings. Besides, little material is wasted during the production, which reduces the production cost greatly.
Design flexibility
Rotational molding allows for manufacturing curved, geometrically complex parts and multiple sizes to accommodate any applications. And, because the rotational molding process is weld-free, there are seamless without compromising durability or appearance.
Precise size control
Another major advantage is that rotational molding offers consistent wall thickness, strong and durable corners, high structural strength, finer degree of dimension control over the products, even in complex, hollow or multi-walled products, or in parts with unusual shapes or unique configurations
Durability
Materials option for rotational molding is 100% eco-friendly polyethylene. They are available with high strength-to-stiffness and strength-to-weight ratios that compete or exceed the durability performance of many metals and alloys. Material can be tailored with high UV resistance and weather resistance that can withstand harsh environments and broad range of temperatures. What’s more, roto-molded plastic enclosures are airtight corrosion-proof and resistant to solvents to protect the inner sensor and electronic components.
Extremely versatile
Rotational molding process is extremely versatile. Parts can be manufactured with mold-in options for custom color, textures, patterns, branding logo, threaded inserts, or high gloss finishes.
Lightweight parts
Thermoplastic is up to 40% lighter than fiberglass, 6 times lighter than stainless steel, and 1/2 the weight of aluminum. Plastic enclosures are easy to clean for maintenance.
Light Venus currently manufactures a number of plastic enclosures and housings for electronic equipment, sensors, robotic machines for leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)
