What are the Typical Inspection Criteria for Rotomolded Products?
The inspection criteria are important in the rotational molding process to ensure the quality satisfies the customer's requirements in terms of functionality, durability, aesthetics and economics.
Below are the critical inspection criteria on the rotomolded products.
1. Dimensional measurements
Dimensional measurement is one of the major criteria for the quality inspection of rotationally molded products. In order to ensure the accuracy and precision of the product, it requires to use highly-accurate instruments, such as coordinate measuring machines, height gauges, projectors, meter and portable instruments for inspection and measurement. Digital height gauges measure vertical distances and object heights with speed and accuracy. Vernier scales and calipers support precise measurements of custom rotomolded parts and heavy-gauge thermoformed parts with tight tolerances.
2. Mechanical properties
Physical properties tests refer to testing various physical properties of products through various testing methods, such as strength, hardness, toughness, impact resistance, etc. This requires to use some standard testing instruments and equipment, such as tensile testing machines, durometers, impact testing machines, etc. This inspection helps find defects in the product and improve the quality and durability of the product.
3. Appearance and color
Appearance and color consistency are important to rotomolded products. Colorimeters, spectrometers, color difference meters and other equipment are commonly used in to inspect the appearance and color.
As a custom rotational molding manufacturer, our quality control and product development team will clearly define “Acceptance Criteria & Inspection” reports according to customers' requirements. We have the advanced test equipment and instrument to inspect the rotomolded products and parts, and ensure the quality and dimension meet the precise specification.
